Two and a half hours after the appointment time, many carbs later, frequent pees and unusual cravings as we wandered the most expensive grocery store in Singapore (what was I thinking), we sat across the desk from our doctor, a mother of two students from CIS, for the second time. Pictures of Dr. Hagarty's boys looking at us as she gets Belinda to yank up her skirt and ... whoa that's cold! How would Mom Hagarty feel if that happened in my office!?!?!? Seven (that's "its" name ... for now ... it's the seventh cousin you know) looks like a Matrix character as it flies at us from all angles on the screen. We could tell it was smart because it's head was frickin' huge!!! At least 1.3 cm of its hulking 2.6 cm frame. Not much of a basketball player though, I'm not sure its right arm was long enough to even scratch its right nipple (if it even has a nipple yet). The heart was pounding away sending at least a milligram of blood each pulse ... I think we had interrupted its jogging regime. Doc Hagarty says all seems fine and in three weeks Seven should have a face that looks human! Oh and we can share our secret with the world. So shhhh until then!
This is all fun and games for now! Well, maybe not for Belinda. Cowans, do you remember how we felt as we drove the back road to the cottage and all of a sudden the 2 hour drive became 2.5? She feels like that all the time! And now I have to make lunches because she needs to eat crackers and drink ginger ale in bed. That's ok, I like crackers and ginger ale.
So it was a pretty awesome experience this afternoon and we are both pretty excited! We hope you're all good! We will be taking Seven for his first Scuba trip next week ... just kidding ... Belinda with child only gets to snorkel, ah the beauties of being male! Stay tuned for Seven's next adventure with sea turtles and sharks!
Love you all!
Ted and Belinda!
Dear Little Seven,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you are aware of what kind of crazy, corrupt world that you are being born into...no I don't mean the world of rainbows and butterflies and ice cream and lollipops, I mean the world of THE COWAN'S!
A little bit of advice if you are of the female anatomy...get used to the burps and farts....and if you are of male anatomy...watch out for crazy uncles and cousins teaching you how to burp and fart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In any case, we are all very excited that we will be welcoming another "Cowanian" (my newest term for the night...) into our family. A cousin to love and cuddle and call "Seven". Hopefully by then he/she will be renamed a more appropriate name like "Liam" or "Ava". hint hint...lol!
These are just the choices I will never have...EVER...AGAIN!
Glad the ultrasound went well...and that mommy and daddy are happy and healthy too! Keep the gingerale and crackers a-plenty and toilet a-handy!
Hugz and Kisses,
Teresa and the rest of the Cowanians...
xo
